Flooding on July 3
Several neighbors experienced flooding during a heavy, brief rainstorm on Tuesday, July 3. At least 2 believe flooding from the creek was involved. One home experienced water coming in between the foundation and brick exterior.
Don't dump wastes into the creek
Today Boy Scout Troop 324 marked our "inlets" -- the openings from the street to the storm sewer system that drains to our creek. Many of you have experienced some level of flooding from the July 2 storm and perhaps before due to our heavy June rains. It is important to keep our Sulphur Branch creek free of debris that can clog the pipes as it flows under Airport Freeway. Also, some of the trash can harm wildlife in the Trinity River system.
Thank you Scouts for giving your time to help our neighborhood when you could have been home reading the last volume of Harry Potter!

June 2007 moves into 2nd place record for rainfall
After 2 drought summers, this June became the second rainiest June on record with 11.10 inches at DFW for the month, and the wettest month since May 1982 (13.66 inches). The wettest June on record is 1928 with 1/2 inch more. The records are based on what is recorded at DFW, so parts of the area probably had more.
The heavy rain of June resulted in flooding on north 820 and at Six Flags in Arlington.
My own rain gauge for the period June 1 - June 29 was 6.4 inches and just for the week of June 30 - July 6 totaled 6 inches.
